Norilsk Nickel said Wednesday that Chinese customers bought a record 25 percent of its production volume last year. The company plans to cut transportation costs for shipments to China “significantly” using a new Arctic shipping route, chief executive Vladimir Strzhalkovsky said in Shanghai.
Meanwhile, RusAl, which owns 25 percent of Norilsk, has filed suit in Krasnoyarsk seeking to overturn a vote at the Norilsk shareholders meeting in June that left it with only three board seats.
