Gold Bed Suit Called Off

A bed maker that sued the Interior Ministry on accusations of not paying for a gold-plated bed it ordered in 2009 has called off the lawsuit without explanation, RIA-Novosti reported Monday.

The company, Ofisny Komfort, filed a lawsuit against the ministry with the Moscow Arbitration Court earlier this month, saying it never received payment for 55 furniture articles, including the bed, worth a combined 4.2 million rubles ($137,000). The ministry, which ordered the furniture for a new Moscow guesthouse, has not commented on the accusations.
