INGLEWOOD, California () -- Alexei Zhamnov, 24, the Winnipeg Jets' Russian center, is having a career year.
Saturday night, he remained in the thick of the NHL scoring race with the first five-goal game of his career in a 7-7 tie against the Los Angeles Kings.
"If you get the chances, you have to keep shooting," said Zhamnov, who took only six shots. "Tonight was my night. I was just thinking about winning the game, not how many goals I scored."
He leads Winnipeg with 22 goals and 48 points in 33 games.
