31 December 1994
ATLANTA -- Lenny Wilkens matched Red Auerbach's record for NBA coaching victories at 938 as the Atlanta Hawks rallied to beat the San Antonio Spurs 127-121 in overtime.
In his 22nd season, the victory Thursday night gave Wilkens a career record of 938-790. Auerbach had a 938-479 record in 20 seasons, 16 of those in Boston, where he built the Celtics into a dynasty and won nine league championships.

Heat 126, Clippers 83. In Miami, Glen Rice scored 35 points as Miami beat the Los Angeles Clippers by the biggest margin in Heat history.
The 43-point victory eclipsed the mark set by the Heat against Philadelphia last March 5 in a 120-83 win.

Houston 126, Golden State 124. In Houston, Vernon Maxwell's desperation 3-pointer with 1.9 seconds to play lifted the Houston Rockets over the Golden State Warriors.
Hakeem Olajuwon had 42 points and eight rebounds as the Rockets held off a furious fourth-quarter rally by the Warriors. Tim Hardaway had 32 points for Golden State.

Elden Campbell scored 11 of his season-high 28 points in the fourth quarter and blocked six shots to help fuel the Lakers' 13th victory in 17 games. Detlef Schrempf scored 26 points and Shawn Kemp had 22 points and 13 rebounds for the Sonics.
