MOSCOW -- A Russian pensioner hacked six fellow mourners to death with an axe Sunday after his wife's funeral, Itar-Tass said.

Ivan Likharev, who is in his 60s, "could not even remember what started the quarrel."

Neighbors called police to his house in the village of Verkhneye Moshevo, near Perm in the northern Urals. They found two bodies lying in the garden and another four indoors.

Itar-Tass did not say whether the victims were members of the dead woman's family.
