Warriors, Heat Swap Seikaly, Owen

OAKLAND, California -- The Golden State Warriors acquired center Rony Seikaly from the Miami Heat in exchange for forward Billy Owens on Wednesday in a swap of former Syracuse University stars.

Seikaly averaged 15.1 points and 10.3 rebounds last season. He will make $3.3 million this season with the Warriors. Owens averaged 15 points and 8.1 rebounds last season and will make $2.8 million this year.

With forward-center Chris Webber holding out in a contract dispute, Golden State was facing the prospect of starting the season Friday with rookie Clifford Rozier at center.
