Uzbek Silk Harvest Hit

TASHKENT, Uzbekistan -- Uzbekistan, a world top five silk producers, expects its 1994 silk harvest to fall to 26,000 tons of raw cocoons, from 29,500 tons in 1993, officials said. Sobir Navruzov, general director of the state-owned silk company, said: "The quality will improve this year so we hope we can get the same amount of silk thread as last year."
