U.S.-Russia Crime Meet

MOSCOW () -- A U.S. State Department delegation joined Interior Minister Anatoly Kulikov in Moscow on Monday to devise strategies for defeating their "common enemy" -- crime.

Citing drug trafficking and international organized crime groups as the worst threats to law enforcers in both countries, the two sides signed a protocol on expanding their joint crime-fighting activities. The meeting was a follow-up to a visit by FBI director Louis Freeh to Moscow in July 1994, when Freeh opened the FBI's first office in Russia.
