Toucan Thief Absconds

LONDON -- British debt collectors offered a rich reward, ?100,000 ($150,000), for anyone who can find a businessman who fled with a toucan with a wooden leg, a lynx, some llamas and some peacocks.

The property developer, whom the collectors say owes some ?6 million, vanished with his animals a year ago after a plan to open a country park hotel and zoo collapsed.

"We do not keep records but this is the highest civil reward we have heard of in this country," a spokesman for accountants Touche Ross said.
