LONDON () -- Singer Boy George's brother appeared in court Monday on a charge of murdering his wife.
Gerald O'Dowd, 31, did not enter a plea during the brief hearing in magistrates' court in Hemel Hempstead, 30 kilometers northwest of London.
O'Dowd was arrested Sunday at his home in Tring, 50 kilometers northwest of London, where police found his 32-year-old wife Jill bleeding heavily from a single stab wound in the chest. She died later in the day in hospital. Police released no details about the incident.
Boy George issued a statement Sunday night, saying the family reacted with "absolute disbelief."
