Seven Picassos Stolen

ZURICH, Switzerland () -- Thieves have stolen seven Picasso paintings worth $44 million from a private art gallery, police said Monday.

Zurich police said two of the paintings "Seated Woman," and "Christ of Montmartre," were together worth an estimated $40 million. The two were both stolen once before in June 1991.

The break-in at the gallery, owned by Max Bollag, occurred over the weekend. The thieves broke in through the cellar of a neighboring building, police said.
