MOSCOW -- The pretender to the Russian throne will undergo military training in the old imperial capital of St. Petersburg in keeping with a tradition of the Romanov family, Itar-Tass reported Friday. Grand Duke Georgy, 14, will enroll in the Nakhimov Military School, his mother, Grand Duchess Maria Vladimirovna, said. An estimated 10,000 monarchists across Russia hope Georgy will one day accede to the throne of his distant relative, Tsar Nicholas II, who abdicated in 1917.
