Reynolds to Visit Russia

Irish Prime Minister Albert Reynolds, snubbed by President Boris Yeltsin at Shannon airport, is likely to make an official visit to Russia early next year, the RIA news agency said Monday.

A Foreign Ministry spokesman said First Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Soskovets, who hastily stood in for Yeltsin at the airport last Friday when the president inexplicably failed to disembark, had reissued an invitation to Reynolds first made last year.

RIA said Moscow would clarify the airport incident in the next few days.
