SALZBURG, Austria (x) -- A racing car catapulted over a crash barrier at an Austrian racing track, killing three officials instantly, police said.
The driver lost control of his Opel Astra during a Saturday training session for a German touring car trophy race at the Salzburgring circuit.
The car smashed into the crash barrier and landed on the other side, hitting several people, police said. The driver and a fourth track official were slightly injured. The weekend race was canceled following the accident.
