Russian President Vladimir Putin's domestic approval ratings have risen to an all-time high of 89 percent, a survey by independent pollster the Levada Center showed Wednesday.

The latest figure represents an increase of three percentage points since last month of those that say they approve of Putin's work as president, Levada found.

A mere 10 percent of respondents expressed disapproval of his actions, the poll said.

The president's approval ratings have not dropped below 85 percent all year, despite rising inflation, continued criticism of the Kremlin by the international community and economic troubles exacerbated by Western sanctions over the Ukraine crisis.

The Levada poll also found that support for Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev this month equalled his joint-highest rating in April this year — jumping three percentage points since May to 66 percent.

The public's confidence in the Russian government was also found by Levada to have crept up three percentage points to 62 percent, the highest approval rating it has scored all year.

The Levada poll was carried out from June 19 to 22 among 1,600 people in 46 Russian regions. The margin of error did not exceed 3.4 percent.
