PHOENIX -- Kevin Johnson scored 20 points, hitting three technical free throws during a third-quarter surge, and the Phoenix Suns won their 25th straight home game over two seasons by beating the Dallas Mavericks 139-113.


Jim Jackson of Dallas, the NBA's No. 2 scorer, matched his average with 28 points Monday night, but the Mavericks couldn't recover after falling behind 94-70 on Johnson's conversion of the second technical on coach Dick Motta, who was ejected with 4:09 left in the third.


Jamal Mashburn had 21 points and Roy Tarpley 16 for the Mavericks.


Bucks 101, Nets 97. Vin Baker scored 11 of his 26 points in the fourth quarter and Glenn Robinson finished with 20.


The Bucks, who snapped a four-game losing streak, led 100-90 with a minute left before faltering on defense.


Jayson Williams made the first of two free throws for New Jersey. Kenny Anderson grabbed Williams' miss and scored with 28.9 seconds left. Anderson sank a 3-pointer with 15.4 seconds to go, but the Nets came no closer.


Timberwolves 82, Clippers 81. Pat Durham, seeing extended playing time because of Isaiah Rider's one-game suspension, made a 3-pointer with 22 seconds to play.


Durham, who was playing in the Continental Basketball Association until Nov. 24, hit a 3-pointer from the top of the key to give the Timberwolves an 80-78 lead.


Rockets 101, Heat 88. Mario Elie scored Houston's first 11 points of the fourth quarter, including three 3-pointers, to propel the Rockets to a 10th consecutive victory over Miami.


Hakeem Olajuwon had 24 points, 12 rebounds and seven block shots and Elie finished with 19 points. For Miami, Glen Rice, who scored 37 and 30 points in his last two games, finished with 20 points.


Magic 128, Bullets 121. Nick Anderson scored a season-high 35 points, including 11 in the fourth quarter and four in overtime, to lead the Magic past the crippled Bullets.


Anfernee Hardaway scored 29 and Shaquille O'Neal had 28 for the Magic before fouling out with 1:04 left in regulation. Rookie Juwan Howard had a career-high 24 points and 14 rebounds for the Bullets, who played without injured starters Chris Webber, Rex Chapman, Don MacLean and Kevin Duckworth.


Cavaliers 123, Celtics 102. Mark Price sank a team-record seven 3-point shots and scored 36 points as the Cavaliers won their ninth straight game. Price made seven of his nine 3-point attempts -- four in the second quarter -- and converted a rare 4-point play, the second of his career and sixth in team history.


Sonics 123, Kings 103. Sam Perkins came off the bench to score a season-high 26 points and Detlef Schrempf added 21 points as the Sonics avenged their only home-court loss. Rookie Brian Grant led the Kings with 23 points and seven rebounds and Olden Polynice added 20 points.


76ers 101, Blazers 94. Clarence Weatherspoon scored 14 of his 23 points in the fourth period and Dana Barros added 23 for Philadelphia.


Weatherspoon's 12-foot baseline jumper broke a 92-92 tie with 1:20 left in the game. Two free throws by Willie Burton with 22 seconds remaining gave the 76ers a 98-93 margin.


Bulls 107, Knicks 104, OT. Scottie Pippen scored a season-high 36 points and the Chicago Bulls survived a last-second blunder in regulation by Steve Kerr on Sunday to beat the New York Knicks 107-104 in overtime at Chicago. In an intense Christmas matchup of bitter rivals, Pippen scored all seven of Chicago's overtime points. But the Bulls would have ended matters earlier if not for the closing sequence in regulation that gave the Knicks another life.


Pippen made a driving layup with 2:24 to go to put Chicago ahead for good, 104-102. He added three free throws for the final margin and blocked 3-point attempts by both Davis and Charles Smith in the final seconds.


Nuggets 105, Sonics 96. At Denver, Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf scored 23 points and Rodney Rogers added 22 Sunday, sending the Denver Nuggets past Seattle 105-96 and ending the SuperSonics' four-game winning streak.
