No Turkey? Indulge on The Town

Every fourth Thursday of November, Tom Kaufman has been putting on a Thanksgiving dinner for the Russian employees of his import firm as he tries to share what he considers the best of United States holidays.

"Thanksgiving is really special. To me, the rest of the holidays are just holidays," said Kaufman, who is buying two turkeys to feed 21 Russian officemates. "They don't have the depth that Thanksgiving has."

Kaufman encouraged other Americans to spread the spirit of Thanksgiving by treating their Russian friends to a traditional turkey dinner.

"In the future, we could put together something where everybody could adopt a family and share our tradition with them. It would be nice to share it with people. We are guests in their country."
