MOSCOW () -- President Boris Yeltsin will not attend this month's meeting of the World Economic Forum in the Swiss resort of Davos, Itar-Tass reported Monday.
"In the current situation, President Boris Yeltsin does not consider that is possible to visit Davos," it said.
Yeltsin, one of several top-level guests invited to the Swiss meeting, is facing tough criticism at home and abroad over his decision to send troops into rebel Chechnya to crush the region's independence bid.
