The daughter of slain opposition politician Boris Nemtsov has asked the Russian Investigative Committee to resume the investigation into his murder, the TASS news agency reported Wednesday.

Zhanna Nemtsova is demanding investigators to charge Chechen battalion commander Ruslan Geremeyev, the man Nemtsova believes masterminded the attack, the RBC newspaper reported.

Other men allegedly implicated in the murder are head of the Chechen Sever battalion Alibek Delimkhanov, and Chechen social services official Shamkhan Tazabaev, the lawyers wrote in their submission to the Investigative Committee, RBC reported.

Several of Geremeyev's relatives are also implicated, including his brother Arthur Geremeyev, Senator Suleiman Geremeyev, and police officer Vakha Geremeyev.

“Although the investigation revealed facts indicating these people could have been involved in Nemtsov's assassination, not one of them has been properly questioned,” the lawyers wrote. “Ruslan and Arthur Geremeyev were not even charged,” they said.

Investigators tried several times to process paperwork for Ruslan Geremeyev's arrest but could not collect the necessary signatures, RBC reported. The Investigative Committee's actions are aimed only at “creating the illusion of the fact that the murder has been fully solved,” said Prokhorov.

The Investigative Committee announced in January that the murder of Nemtsov, who was gunned down near the Kremlin on Feb. 27, 2015, had been solved.
