NATO Chief in Russia

MOSCOW-- NATO's military chief in Europe, General George Joulwan, has arrived in Moscow for a three-day visit marking a new era of closer ties between the Western alliance and its old Cold War foe. Joulwan, the supreme allied commander in Europe, flew in Sunday and is scheduled to meet Defense Minister Pavel Grachev and the chief of General Staff, General Mikhail Kolesnikov. Last week, Russia ended decades of hostility with NATO by signing its Partnership for Peace deal on closer military links with the 16-nation alliance.
