ABU DHABI, UAE -- The parents of condemned Filipina maid Sarah Balabagan will ask the family of the man she killed to show mercy and drop their demand for her execution, the Philippines ambassador said Thursday.
A United Arab Emirates Islamic court last month sentenced Balabagan to death for the premeditated murder of Almas Mohammed al-Baloushi.
The victim's son, Faraj, insisted that Balabagan should face execution. But Wednesday, he said he would consider waiving the death sentence if her parents asked him to show mercy.
