LUKoil-Egypt Link

MOSCOW -- Italy's Agip SpA has transferred its 30 percent share in a concession to develop a group of oil deposits in Egypt's Mleiha area to the LukAgip joint venture with Russia's LUKoil, a LUKoil news release said.

LukAgip was set up last year by the two oil companies to develop fields in Tunisia, Libya and Egypt. LUKoil said the Agip decision signaled a revival of cooperation between Russian and Egyptian oil and gas specialists that flourished in the 1960s and 1970s.
