Lebanon Bombs Kill 8

MARJAYOUN, Lebanon () -- Moslem guerrillas opposed to the mideast peace process killed eight Israeli-backed militiaman and wounded five other people in two bomb attacks Thursday, security sources reported.

The first roadside bomb exploded as a Mercedes sedan drove near the village of Beit Leif in the western sector of the so-called "security zone" Israel occupies along the border. The driver was killed instantly and three passengers were wounded. All were Lebanese.

The second bomb exploded in the village of Tallousa, in the zone's central sector, killing seven militiamen of the South Lebanon Army, which is armed, funded and trained by Israel.

The Iranian-backed Shiite Moslem Hezbollah, or Party of God, claimed responsibility for the attacks.
