EFRAT, West Bank () -- Israeli police Wednesday arrested 38 Jewish settlers blocking the West Bank's main Jerusalem-Hebron road in a protest against expansion of Palestinian self-rule, a police spokesman said.
The arrests followed overnight scuffles between police and hundreds of settlers who brought a mobile home to a hilltop near Efrat settlement to force a widening of the enclave. The settlers blocked the road when prevented from bringing more caravans to the site.
