KIEV -- The deadly Hepatitis B virus has struck southern Ukraine, where faulty sewage systems have introduced several dangerous diseases, officials said Wednesday.
The Kievskiye Vedomosti newspaper reported that the disease has killed eight people and infected nearly 1,000 in the province of Dnipropetrovsk this year.
Forty percent of those affected were drug addicts, it said.
