Gerulaitis Suit Weighed

NEW YORK () -- The mother of the tennis star Vitas Gerulaitis has set in motion a possible lawsuit over her son's death.

Aldona Gerulaitis filed papers in New York's state Supreme Court Wednesday, asking to inspect the poolside cottage in Southampton where her 40-year-old son was found dead of carbon monoxide poisoning Sept. 18.

The Long Island cottage where Gerulaitis was found is owned by Beatrice Raynes, the mother of Gerulaitis' friend, Martin Raynes, court papers said. The tennis star's poisoning was believed to be due to a faulty gas heater.
