Feminist TV Blitz

MADRID () -- The Spanish government has launched a 100 million peseta ($800,000) television advertising campaign to persuade men to share household chores with women.

Starting next Saturday, Spaniards will be subjected to television commercials showing a woman laden with baby, vacuum cleaner, shopping and a pile of ironing beside a man carrying a few papers, who keeps offering to help but never does.

Spanish women have made considerable progress in the workplace since the days of Francisco Franco's dictatorship, but surveys show they still do three-quarters of the domestic work.
