Deficit: 8.4% of GDP

MOSCOW () -- Russia's draft budget for 1995, which Prime Minister Viktor Chernomyrdin is scheduled to present to the State Duma next week, foresees a deficit of 77.5 trillion rubles ($25.8 billion), or about 8.4 percent of gross domestic product, Interfax reported Wednesday.

The agency quoted Deputy Finance Minister Sergei Alexashenko as saying that projected revenues in the draft budget were 131 billion rubles, and expenditures 208.5 trillion rubles.

Russia's 1994 budget foresaw a deficit of 10 percent of GDP, but experts question government's ability to meet that target.
