Czech Postal Scandal

The Czech post office is investigating how fake stamps showing frontal male nudes slipped the attention of clerks and were duly franked with official postmarks.

"Czech Post Office Stamps Penises," said a front-page headline in the mass-circulation Blesk newspaper, which also ran a photo of the stamp.

Blesk said it had received a spate of anonymous letters with the fake stamps.

"These are clippings of naked men taken from some magazine, and then stuck in the place of the stamp," Blesk editor Robert Sobota said.

"The remarkable thing is that the post office ... postmarked these filthy things," he said.
