BEIJING () -- Two Chinese soldiers have captured a huge rat weighing 3.5 kilograms, with paws like a cat and a tail as thick as a man's thumb, the Xinhua News Agency said Thursday.
The soldiers, of the Beijing paramilitary armed police, found the rat when they were on patrol in their barracks on the outskirts of the capital, it said.
The grey, 60-centimeter-long rat has a 20-centimeter-long tail and sharply protruding teeth, it said.
Police plan to ask experts to identify the animal before they decide its fate, Xinhua said.
