GSTAAD, Switzerland -- Sergi Bruguera of Spain beat wild-card entry Guy Forget 3-6, 7-5, 6-2, 6-1 in the final of the Swiss Open after staging a sit-down protest during the second set.
Top seed Bruguera had a running dispute Sunday with the umpire throughout the set over doubtful line decisions in Forget's favor.
Midway through the set in which both players held serve until the 10th game, Bruguera stopped play and staged a brief sit-down protest.
"My concentration was broken in the first set by the line decisions which continued in the second. I was very angry but I cooled down later," the Spaniard said after the match.
An upset appeared likely as Bruguera, twice French Open champion, dropped his service three times in the first set.
A brief lapse in concentration by the 29-year-old Frenchman in the 11th game of the second set gave Bruguera a crucial break enabling him to take it 7-5.
Bruguera, 23, now in full flow, broke Forget's opening serve in the third set and broke him again in the seventh to take the set in 30 minutes.
