Australia, U.S. to Final

BURY, England ( -- The United States and Australia will meet in the world lacrosse championship final Saturday after very different wins in their semifinals.

While Australia beat Canada 18-17 in a thrilling end-to-end match Thursday, the tournament favorite, the United States, coasted to an easy 25-3 win over England.

Australian goalkeeper Greg Larwood was the most valuable player on the field as he continually repelled Canadian shots at goal to hold on to the lead in the tense last quarter. The host found the Americans simply too talented and could not stop them marching into their seventh consecutive final.
