Bulgaria said Monday that it would raise gas prices by almost 25 percent from July 1 to enable the country’s main supplier to fund imports from Russia.
The State Commission for Energy & Water Regulation will allow prices for households and industry to rise to $342 for 1,000 cubic meters, the regulator said.
The increase is below the 30 percent requested by the country’s dominant gas trader, Bulgargaz, which buys the fuel from Gazprom.
