Russian villagers face off against captured German soldiers in a scene from "Half-Light" (Polumgla), currently being filmed in the Leningrad region. Set in 1944, the film tells the story of a group of German POWs thrust into a rural community in the Russian north. In order to shoot the film, production company Nikola-Film built a replica of an Arkhangelsk-region village. "Half-Light" will be the first feature-length film directed by Artyom Antonov; its screenplay was written by Igor Balgarin ("Dersu Uzala") and Viktor Smirnov. It is scheduled to come out in theaters this summer.
