Wednesday is the 45th anniversary of Yury Gagarin's first journey into space, and the date of his flight, April 12, is celebrated as Cosmonauts Day in Russia. Among the places in Moscow where one can learn about Gagarin's flight is the Museum of Cosmonauts at the All-Russia Exhibition Center, near the VDNKh metro station. While the museum contains some 75,000 films, papers and artifacts from the history of space exploration, it is perhaps best known for being capped with the soaring, 100-meter Subjugators of Space monument.
