Featuring the iconic face of Che Guevara, a poster calls for the countries of the Third World to unite against capitalist oppression. The poster went on display this week at Dom Cultural Center in an exhibition called "The Cuban Sociopolitical Poster." All the posters on display were originally designed for Tricontinental, a international socialist journal published by OSPAAAL, the Organization for Solidarity with the People of Asia, Africa and Latin America. Featuring evocative images and revolutionary texts written in English, French, Spanish and sometimes Arabic, OSPAAAL's posters condemned things like the U.S. military presence in Southeast Asia and racial apartheid in South Africa. "The Cuban Sociopolitical Poster" runs to Nov. 8 at Dom, located at 24 Bolshoi Ovchinnikovsky Pereulok.
