Russian Bear Taken for a Swim on Public Beach, Surprising No One

A bear was filmed swimming at a public beach in southern Russia after being taken there by its owner, surprising no one.

“A typical Russian beach,” quips the video’s author as he films the bear wading into the river and mingling with other swimmers while held on a long leash.

Children and parents are heard laughing as the animal splashes around with two adult beachgoers in the Volgograd region.

Media outlets report that the bear is a cub from a circus in the town of Uryupinsk and say that the video was filmed in June.

Add vodka and balalaika, and your Russian stereotype starter pack will be complete.
