Live Music to Take the Stage on Moscow's Metro

Officially approved musicians have started to perform in special concerts on the Moscow metro, the TASS news agency reported Wednesday.

The concerts can be seen at Mayakovskaya, Kurskaya and Vystavochnaya metro stations from 10A.M. to 5:00P.M. and from 8P.M. till 10P.M. on weekdays.

“This is a long-awaited event for many city musicians who can now officially act on special platforms on the metro. They now have the opportunity to speak to the Muscovites, to find new listeners and fans,” said deputy head of the Moscow metro Dmitry Komendantov.

A thousand professional and amateur musicians participated in auditions in April, with 30 making the final cut.

The project will continue until September, and with the potential to be expanded further, TASS reported.
