Snowden's Lawyer to Release Book on March 3

Anatoly Kucherena

The Russian lawyer of U.S. espionage whistle-blower Edward Snowden is set to release the first book in a "psychological-political thriller trilogy" on March 3, state news agency RIA Novosti reported Tuesday.

The lawyer, Anatoly Kucherena, has already sold the film rights to Hollywood director Oliver Stone, the report said. Kucherena said Snowden has already received a copy of the book and liked it.

Snowden, a former contractor at the U.S. National Security Agency, in 2013 leaked classified information to the media that purportedly showed how the United States spies on millions of its own citizens.

Snowden fled the United States and currently lives in Russia, where he was granted temporary asylum.
