Road Dispute Gone Sour Ends in Romantic Proposal (Video)

Though most Russian girls are into fairy tale romances, some men have different ideas about what it takes to make a woman go weak at the knees, a viral video has shown.

A YouTube video showing a Russian man's — slightly intimidating — interpretation of a marriage proposal has gathered more than 6 million views online since it was uploaded on Tuesday.

The video shows a gang of Russian motorcyclists getting ready to beat up a young driver in front of his girlfriend's eyes in what seems like a road dispute gone wrong.

Tensions run high as the driver repeatedly gets pushed onto the bonnet of the car, causing his girlfriend, who up until now remained in the driver's seat, to get out of the vehicle and bravely confront the assaulters.

Accompanied by a sudden change in soundtrack — from Rammstein's "Feuer Frei" to Robbie William's "She's The One" — events then take on a surprising turn...

A Message from The Moscow Times:

Dear readers,

We are facing unprecedented challenges. Russia's Prosecutor General's Office has designated The Moscow Times as an "undesirable" organization, criminalizing our work and putting our staff at risk of prosecution. This follows our earlier unjust labeling as a "foreign agent."

These actions are direct attempts to silence independent journalism in Russia. The authorities claim our work "discredits the decisions of the Russian leadership." We see things differently: we strive to provide accurate, unbiased reporting on Russia.

We, the journalists of The Moscow Times, refuse to be silenced. But to continue our work, we need your help.

Your support, no matter how small, makes a world of difference. If you can, please support us monthly starting from just $2. It's quick to set up, and every contribution makes a significant impact.

By supporting The Moscow Times, you're defending open, independent journalism in the face of repression. Thank you for standing with us.
