Armed Gang Strips Man of 20 Million Rubles at Moscow's Vnukovo Airport

Carrying 20 million rubles in cash on you during a flight could be asking for trouble.

Police are searching for a group of armed men suspected of robbing a passenger of 20 million rubles ($586,276) at Moscow's Vnukovo Airport, a news report said.

The alleged victim was intercepted at a Vnukovo passenger terminal after flying in from the city of Nizhnekamsk in the republic of Tatarstan, according to a spokesperson for Moscow's transportation police department, cited Tuesday by news agency Interfax.

The man said three or four armed men dressed in black and wearing face masks had stolen a leather bag from him containing a hefty sum — 20 million rubles to be exact —under threat of force, Interfax reported.

Police did not specify why the man did not report the incident until 12 hours after the attack.
