11 Auchan Stores Barred From Selling Alcohol

The sale of alcohol has been banned in 11 Auchan hypermarkets in the Moscow region.

The decision was made by the Moscow region's government after the federal watchdog, Rosalcoholregularovaniye, discovered errors in Auchan's declarations on the turnover of alcohol in its stores.

However, Maria Kurnosova, a representative of the French company's Russian subsidiary, told Interfax on Monday that the company had already dealt with the regulator's complaint, sending the required information and having a confirmation of receipt returned to them.

Auchan has no idea when the ban might be lifted, she added.
