Road Works to Restrict Access to Sheremetyevo's Northern Terminals

Leningradskoye Shosse sees roadworks yet again.

A lane on the road connecting Leningradskoye Shosse with terminals A, B and C of Sheremetyevo Airport will be closed from Thursday until February due to roadworks, the Northwestern Concessionary Company said Thursday.

The company is building an overpass on Sheremetyevskoye Shosse to connect it with a stretch of the new toll road that is under construction between the Moscow Ring Road and Solnechnogorsk in the Moscow region, Vedomosti reported.

The road works won't cause significant delays as Sheremetyevskoye Shosse has a relatively low traffic volume, the NCC said.

The proposed restrictions and the installation of additional road signs have been approved by traffic police and coordinated with the airport, as well as the authority responsible for public transport in airport vicinity, Mosgortrans.

State-controlled carrier Aeroflot said it is aware of the work, but does not expect its service to be seriously affected because it operates out of southern terminals D, E and F.

However, an Aeroflot spokesman said that the airline always recommends that its clients give themselves extra time to get to the airport when making their travel plans.
