Two Die From Gas Poisoning on Ship in Bratsk

Two crew members have died with symptoms of gas poisoning following a possible propane leakage on board a ship in the Irkutsk region town of Bratsk.

Six others have been taken to a hospital, a spokesman for the region's police department said Monday.

Out of the eight men and one woman of the ship's crew two people have died and five have been admitted to a local hospital with symptoms of gas poisoning, Interfax reported.

He added that one of the crew members was in serious condition while two other crew members did not require medical assistance.

The crew members are all between 25 and 28 year old, Itar-Tass reported.

Police have begun investigating the incident.
