Motorcycle Stolen in Rome Turns Up in Russia

An Italian man has come to the southern city of Belgorod, near the Ukrainian border, to retrieve his Honda motorcycle which had been stolen in Rome several months ago, police said.

Nicolaie Sorin Vulpe's red motorcycle was discovered in a truck near Belgorod, the Interior Ministry said in a statement. Two weeks ago, Vulpe was notified by mail that his motorcycle had been found and that he could come and get it.

A video posted on the ministry's website shows the Italian happily embracing his bike, but he was unable to start it because the battery was dead.

Police say six motorcycles reported stolen in Italy and other countries have been recovered in the Belgorod region in the past half year.
