Protest Erupts After Building Is Demolished (Video)

As many as 137 families who bought apartments in an apartment building at 9 Kadetskaya Ulitsa in Krasnodar lost their property when the building was demolished last week, AIF reported.

Last November, a Krasnodar court ruled that the 3-story apartment building on Kadetskaya Ulitsa was built without proper authorization and needed to be removed. The authorities were also pressing charges against the construction company that built it.

The people who bought apartments in the building held a protest to attract the attention of the government and media.

But local authorities were uncompromising and went on with the demolition, while protesters were dispersed by the police.
