Bridge Tender Planned

Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has issued a directive to hold a concession tender for the construction and maintenance of a bridge across Lena River in the northeastern city of Yakutsk, a statement posted on the Cabinet's official site said Friday.

State financing of the project will total 40.3 billion rubles ($1.28 billion), Interfax said. Budget funds of 15.6 billion rubles will be spent in 2016, and then continue in various sums through 2019, when the bridge should be complete, Interfax reported.

The concession winner will also receive 16 billion rubles from the budget between 2020 and 2027 in structured decreasing payments. The concession will run for 14 years.
