17 Major Intersections Planned

Between 2013 and 2015 municipal authorities plan to build from scratch or reconstruct 17 major road intersections, City Hall's construction department said, Vedomosti reported.

Currently, a direct exit onto the Garden Ring from Ulitsa Podolskikh Kursantov is being built. The intersection where the MKAD and Dmitrovskoe Shosse meet is also being redone, the result of which will be a three-level fully functional interchange.

New intersections are now being designed for where the MKAD meets with Leninsky, Michurinskiy, Ryzanskiy, Volokolamskiy and Volgograskiy Prospekts, as well as where it crosses Shcholkovskoe and Kashirskoe Highways and Profsoyuznaya Ulitsa.

Independent journalism isn’t dead. You can help keep it alive.

As the only remaining independent, English-language news source reporting from Russia, The Moscow Times plays a critical role in connecting Russia to the world.

Editorial decisions are made entirely by journalists in our newsroom, who adhere to the highest ethical standards. We fearlessly cover issues that are often considered off-limits or taboo in Russia, from domestic violence and LGBT issues to the climate crisis and a secretive nuclear blast that exposed unknowing doctors to radiation.
