Medvedev Advises Students on Matters of the Heart

Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev told students at the Siberian Federal University on Thursday that the key to success in love is persistence.

When asked how to be successful in dating by a student, Medvedev immediately responded with, "That's the spirit!" before revealing that he has "had many experiences, as any human being has. And I hope I will have many more."

After noting that one's student years are the "finest times," Medvedev said that the secret to success in love is to persevere.

"You will always get a result that way," he said, adding that he knows this from personal experience and that "love always wins."

Medvedev met his wife Svetlana while still in school.

The pair's teachers told Trud newspaper in an earlier profile that it was obvious that he was in love with her, but that he really did have to be quite persistent due to Svetlana's abundance of admirers.

The pair married in 1989.
