Pushkin Squre to Get Makeover

Pushkin Square and New Pushkin Square will get a face lift this spring.

The city utilities and landscaping department announced a bid process for the right to renovate and restore the squares.

The improvements include new curb stones, new asphalt, new granite road bricks, rebuilt drainage pipes and staircases, and  replacement lighting and cables.

Landscaping work will add grass, flowers, trees and bushes. An automatic watering system will be installed as well. The work is expected to be completed by July 1 and cost about 220 million rubles ($7.3 million).
